Review of Broadwey Village Stores in Weymouth

Peter & Janet Blakey have been running the Broadway Village Shop since 2000. Unfortunately after seven years they lost the Post Office and with the new Weymouth relief road taking away huge numbers of passing trade, they have had to regroup. Now they have parking right outside the shop, stock Dorset produce (where possible) and Janet is busy each morning baking cakes & savouries (pasties, sausage rolls etc.), plus a small range of homemade ready meals.

Janet is currently running “Scone of the Week” feature, baking a different flavoured scone each week. This week it is toffee apple and I can vouch that they are absolutely delicious and similar to our famous Dorset Apple Cake!!!

They have a great stock of local foodie goodies from Olives Et Al, Thomas J Fudge, Dorset Tea, Jurassic Coffee Company, Dorset Ginger Beer, Ford Farm Cheese, Moores Biscuits, Dorset Cake Co, Sun Cottage herbs & spices, Hardy’s Classic Pork Sausages, Jurassic Coast Meats and their own brand of jams & chutneys.

Plus a great selection of essentials at very competitive prices! Milk & dairy, Wine 3 bottles for £10, Newspapers & magazines, Fruit & vegetables etc. You can even order food & produce online and have them delivered!

Next time you are passing, why not stop & pop in for a chat, try Janet’s Scone of the Week or buy some of their wonderful Dorset goodies – you won’t be disappointed.
