Review of Fromage to Yours in Ringwood.
Nestled just behind the high street in the market town of Ringwood, ‘Fromage to Yours’ (great name!) is a cute deli, providing locally produced cheese and charcuterie platters.
I’m a cheese freak, so actually did a double-take when I walked past it one day. Owner James was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his locally-sourced produce, which is refreshing. I do confess, I am swayed to eat/drink at an establishment if it supports local businesses.
James and his team are lucky to have a small seating area outside, where they serve lunch to eat under the arches or to takeaway. Whatever takes your fancy; paninis, deli salad or a grazing board – just make sure you wash it down with one of his fab ground coffees (locally sourced, of course).
I decided to try one of his grazing boards for two people. I love to nibble, and to be honest I could eat cheese and crackers for dinner every night. It was boxed beautifully, on a slate (how cheese should be served!) with locally sourced crackers, chutneys and some fruit for cleansing the palate.
The cheese we enjoyed was Lyburn garlic & nettle cheese, Lyburn Stoney Cross, Dorset Nduja and a Dorset Aberdeen Angus Bresaola.
Generously dolloped on top (these were so tasty!) were a Pig ‘n’ Pickles fig, tomato & caramelised onion chutney and a Pig ‘n’ Pickles chilli jam.
Accompanying the selection of cheese were some hand baked savoury biscuits by Trailer Made, consisting of garlic, lemon & black pepper, rosemary & sea salt and wholemeal.
There was nothing left by the time we’d finished! A tasty selection, chosen by James. Fromage to Yours also cater for events, so you can enjoy with friends, savour at home or enjoy with a fresh coffee outside the deli.
