Award Winning Dorset
By Andrew Diprose, Editor, Dorset Biz News
It’s always good to celebrate success and – every Dorset Foodie reader knows – there’s lots to celebrate in our fantastic county.
Businesses big and small have been collecting awards over the last few weeks across our Dorset. So a well-deserved round of applause for just some of our more recent award-winners in the food and drink sector.
In the South West Tourism Excellence Awards there was a Gold for Bournemouth’s Picnic Park Deli (Café/Tearoom of the Year) while All Hallows Farmhouse Cookery School in Wimborne St Giles (Experience of the Year, Active or Learning) and The Acorn Inn, Evershot (Pub of the Year) each won Silver.
The Dorchester & Poundbury Business Awards saw Copper Street Brewery pick up the award for Artisans and Local Produce, and Tom Brown’s Pub receive the Café, Pub and Casual Dining award. Lord Fellowes of West Stafford, the actor, novelist, film director and screenwriter, was guest of honour at the awards.
And in last month’s Bridport Business Awards, the town’s Olive Tree was named as the top Café, Pub and Casual Dining destination.
As we all know, the food and drink sector has had a particularly tough time over the last two years. So join me in raising a glass and toasting all those who work so hard to more than tickle our tastebuds.
In my book, they’re all award-winners.
Until next time,
